Our poetry competition aims to celebrate the power of verse to evoke, inspire, and connect. We’re looking for poems that resonate with readers, bring fresh perspectives, and reflect originality in craft and thought.

Terms: By submitting, poets agree to our terms and conditions, and if shortlisted, published in a poetry anthology. Entry fees are non-refundable, and the decision of the judges is final.

- Entry Fee: £5 per poem.
- Closing date: Last entries must be received prior to 31st March. As this is a rolling competition, this competition will close once we have received maximum submissions. Please therefore send your entry as soon as you can.
- Eligibility: Open to all poets, published or unpublished, writing in English. International submissions are welcome.

- Publication: The winning poem(s) will be published in a Chartley Books Poetry Collection, showcasing exceptional work from the competition.
- Feature and Interview: The winning poet will receive a dedicated feature and interview on the Chartley Books website and social media, highlighting their work and creative process.

- Publication: The winning poem(s) will be published in a Chartley Books Poetry Collection, showcasing exceptional work from the competition.

- Poems: Each entry can be a single poem or a collection of up to 5 poems.
- Format: Submit in a readable, 12pt font, single-spaced, with each page numbered. You must also include a 150 word poet bio incase your poem is shortlisted.
- Originality: All submissions must be original, unpublished work.

Celebrate the art of poetry in the Chartley Poetry Competition. Open to poets of all levels, this competition welcomes entries of up to 40 lines in any style. Showcase your voice and have your work published with Chartley. Entries close 31st July, or sooner if we get lots of entries, so enter early!
